The PSFCA East West All-Star Game is pleased to announce the game date and time for the 9th Annual All-Star Clash: Friday, June 19th, 2009 – 6pm Kick-Off.
The East-West All-Star Game is held annually in conjunction with the Big 33 Classic, and for the first time in game history, both games will be played on the same weekend. The Big 33 Classic is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th at Hersheypark Stadium.
“This truly creates a Super Bowl-style weekend for Pennsylvania high school football fans,” said East West Game Executive Director, Cheryl Ebersole, “We are excited to offer this prime-time kick-off, in the tradition of high school football Friday night.”
“Nothing is like a high school football Friday night in Central Pennsylvania,” added Game Director, Kellie Goodman. “The sights, sounds, and fan support are unparalleled, and we hope to capture some of that magic under the lights for this showcase of scholastic football.”
The PSFCA East West All-Star game pits some of the state’s finest college-bound football stars against each other for state-wide bragging rights. The game has been embraced by the Altoona and Blair County communities, which roll out the red carpet for the all-stars through host families, sponsorships and special events throughout game week. Players will arrive in Altoona Sunday, June 14th. Game-week activities traditionally include Fan Fest at Blair County Ballpark, visits with area Veterans at the James E. Van Zandt Veteran’s Hospital and Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home, nights out at DelGrosso’s Family Amusement Park, Free Youth Clinic, a special Sponsors Appreciation Breakfast, the East West All-Star Awards Banquet and Scholarship Golf Outing.
